A SINGER'S BIGGEST PROBLEM
What is the biggest obstacle that singers grappele with? The truth is, the largest problem experienced by the overwhelming majority of singers is: How to transition from chest voice, into head voice without yelling and screaming or disconnecting into a breathy falsetto, and do so with dynamic tonal presence and with connected voice. That’s the biggest problem singers face. So, the problem isn’t whether the singer has been trained to utilize more breath. Remember, I agree…, breath is very important… But, what’s more important is how to breathe in conjunction with how to transition throughout the vocal registers, properly! However, there is a way. But the overwhelming majority of vocal teachers have not been taught how to apply it for themselves or how to teach this proven methodology to their clients. This successful vocal pedagogy hails from the historic 1600 – 1800 century era.
ORIGIN OF THE TECHNIQUE
Henceforth, The origin of The Sing Like The Starz Technique is based on 16th – 18th Century principles of singing known as Bel Canto, Beautiful Singing. Further, Bel Canto was taught to Operatic Castrati (young boys & male opera singers who were castrated in the above era). This highly effective technique was subsequently rediscovered by Seth Riggs in around the 1980’s. Hence, Riggs founded Speech Level Singing, Int’l. Accordingly, this valuable technique was taught to aspiring teachers, including Starz Founder, Alexys Paris.
Additionally, Sing Like The Starz Instructors extensively trained and certified in the Speech Level Singing (SLS), Seth Riggs Technique. Considered as, The Vocal Technique of Legends, this same method or some derivative there of, is utilized by the most highly successful professional voice instructors of our time. Also, our founder, Alexys Paris’ past training includes an Advanced Certified Instructor credential from The Institute For Vocal Advancement (IVA – another iteration of SLS). Collectively, Sing Like The Starz Instructors have studied and taught this highly successful technique & styles for over 78 years. We are committed to training every singer to achieve their goals, objectives, and their Dreams.
